Hello! I'm Ella. In September 2020 I moved into my first home and am lucky enough to have been able to set up a kiln in the garden, and a small pottery studio in the cupboard under the stairs. From my cupboard I've developed a collection of functional, simple tableware.

I first sat at a potter's wheel whilst living in Valencia in 2015. I have since learnt from sharing studio space at the Institute of Making (UCL), under the guidance of Darren Ellis, at the Ceramics Studio Coop (London) and in the ceramics quarter of Seville at Barro Azul. Spending time at Made in Cley (Norfolk) taught me the wonders of making plates, lemon squeezers and mugs en masse.

I'm still learning and developing my work but always with the hope that more people can have ceramics that they use and love to use in every day life. I use toasted stoneware clay, which becomes speckled in firing and creates a unique effect with every piece I make. My 85L electric kiln fits a satisfying number of mugs, plates, bowls and everything so that every time a firing finishes, I can't wait to open the lid. Here I hope to share the results of my work!
